Shut Up for 5 Minutes!
It’s not easy to voluntarily give up control of sound perception. The brain has the capacity to easily tune out undesired sounds. This is usually a beneficial ability. Ask a teacher and you will surely find they have witnessed it. Another aspect of this loss of control is the removal of two white plugs from my ears. Usually, I control the soundtrack. For five minutes, this Sunday afternoon, I sat down on a bench in the metro level of the EV building. I was able to collect sounds from this environment. They are detailed in the image below.
Here is the full auditory mix:
- Coughing
- Shoes
- Boots
- Metal Door
- Pants swishing
- Talking
- Walking down stairs
- Music
- Revolving door
- Metro mix
- Ventilation Hum
- Bunch of voices from upper level
